The Salvation Army’s ‘Drive For Life Program‘ is seeking volunteers who are passionate about giving back to our young community! Specifically, adults that can commit one to two hours per week to accompany a young person practice their driving skills (taught by professional instructors) until they feel ready to sit for their Ps.

Drive for Life has found great success with volunteers who are veterans, retirees, folks aged 55+ seeking Centrelink benefits and many more. The program is located in North Brisbane.

The young learners are highly disadvantaged with little to no access to an adult to accompany them during their driving practices; the program believes that helping them obtain their licence is a very important step in achieving their independence.

Volunteers – who we refer to as ‘mentors’ – receive extensive training and support. They constantly give Drive For Life Team Members feedback saying they find the program to be rewarding and a wonderful way to spend their time. Mentors and learners establish a wonderful relationship, and the Drive for Life team couldn’t be prouder!

Corporate Partners are also welcome to Partner with the Drive For Life Program. For more information contact: Jennifer Kennedy – Relationship Manager – Corporate Partnerships – The Salvation Army
