Share the Spirit of Christmas together and ensure nobody in need is left to struggle alone.

  1. Grant a Christmas Wish  Instead of spending on a secret Santa gift, employees may prefer to grant a Christmas Wish via The Salvation Army, which will be appreciated by someone in need. Visit our new 2023 Christmas Wishes fundraising platform where employees can rally together, grant a wish and you can instantly track your impact!  You can even note your own company logo on the fundraising page and create ‘donation excitement’ within your office.
  2. Donate gifts to the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal – If you prefer the idea of placing a physical gift under the office tree now that everyone has returned to the office, you can ask employees to place a small gift under the office Christmas tree. You can arrange for a team of ‘Santa’s Helpers’ to drop them off at your nearest Kmart store and all of the gifts will be collected from the stores by local Salvos Representatives and distributed to people in need. Why do we need your assistance:

This year, all our services at The Salvation Army have experienced a dramatic increase in demand and with your help, we can ensure our services don’t turn anyone away this Christmas.  As you know inflation, rent and cost of living have surged to frightening heights this year. We are now seeing even more ordinary Australians who are seeking help for the first time. People who were already vulnerable are now being pushed to the brink. You may even know or have seen the struggles in your own suburb or community.

The Salvation Army recently conducted a Sentiment Survey, interviewing 2,007 people in the Australian community.  Most concerning of all is that 1 in 5 said they will not be able to afford to eat this Christmas. Sadly, 1 in 3 people surveyed do not expect to have the funds to cover essentials like rent and electricity.

Thank you.
