Community Supporting Police Inc. (CSP) is a community driven not for profit organisation which aims to render aid, assistance and benefits to members of the Queensland Police Service (QPS) and their immediate families who have serious, terminal or life-threatening injuries or illnesses. Since its inception in 1991, CSP has raised money and provided emergency accommodation for hundreds of QPS members and their families.
The aim of CSP is to enhance relations between the community and police through education, welfare and fostering greater police partnerships in the community. CSP is devoted to raising funds to provide comfort and support to members of the police family in times of emergency.
CSP’s aim is achieved through:
◊ Providing emergency accommodation;
◊ Maintaining the accommodation with volunteer assistance; and
◊ Fundraising through special events, merchandise and donations.
CSP, with valuable assistance from the QPS, provides emergency accommodation in a number of Queensland towns and cities. The properties have been provided by the QPS and are maintained through donations and fundraising by CSP. The properties are located in Brisbane, Cairns, Mareeba, Townsville, Rockhampton and Toowoomba and are close to major hospitals and facilities.
The accommodation is provided at no cost to those requiring assistance. Requests for
